A COIN

A COIN

This is the last lecture in our GNCT in the first year. Madam give a interesting game for us. This game is coin for a through. First madam collected the coins to us then put the coins in to the purse next madam told rotated the for each member after that coin passing time we stoped the passing when madam tapped the table and we got one coin out and we had to speak about the memories we had related to the year of the coin.  The session was going awesome as this was totally impromptu and our colleagues were bringing out some funny and interesting things happened to them in the respective years. When I got the chance to speak, the coin I got was a 2/-  coin which was released in 2006. So, here is the story which I related to the class, the story of how I survived Death.

It was the month of December in 2006, and it was a rainy season. One Sunday morning I was playing in the garden and suddenly I got the idea of overseeing the well because I knew that the well would have filled with water because of the rain.
When I peeped through the well,  an idea suddenly got struck in my mind, "What if I touch the water of the well from my little feet? Then it would be my super hero story in the school". So I started gliding through the rope of the well until my foot touched the water and which I managed to do without any difficulty. But suddenly matters got out of hand and I started slipping through the rope until water was in to my chest level.
Luckily I managed to hold the rope with my left hand and my right hand was holding the iron pipe which was connected to the motor. Then I started shouting "බේරගනියෝ!! බේරගනියෝ!!" so loud. Luckily my sister was playing in the garden and she came running to save my life. She managed to take me out from the jaws of death after scolding me for  putting myself inside the well.

PUZZLE

PUZZLE

First madam divide 4 groups . 1st madam told choose one member in each group and come to front .madam gave one card and told to cut into 90 pieces then our team leader cut that in to 90 pieces after madam took 10 pieces out of 90 and put the pieces in to another group bags.put 80 pieces in our bag.then madam said we want to collect the 10 pieces using strategic and join the full of 90 pieces in 1 piece.

We weren't supposed to look at the image and we were asked to cut the cardboard in to 90 small pieces. At first non of us had any idea what are we going to get later, so we started cutting them without any pattern or shape.
After we had finished Miss. Sarasi put all the small pieces in separate envelopes and a small number of pieces were jumbled in other teams' envelopes. So the task we were given was to find out our teams missing parts from other teams and to complete the puzzle first.
For this we had to search for our missing pieces and we had to negotiate with others, and even to beg sometimes.

And above all, since the shapes were not regular and the image looked same in most of the places, we found it hard to set the puzzle. And due to this we couldn't complete it with the given time.
We were able complete the puzzle by 96% and this activity helped us to learn so many things;
  • Team work
  • Time management
  • Working Cooperatively with others
  • Negotiating
  • Logical thinking
Group members: keerthy,powsikan,zeena,nimesha,mithilan and myself

Balancing on paper

Balancing on paper

we gathered as team of  7 members to play an interesting game which is called as standing on paper.
there are four groups and each group contains 7 or 8 members.
so in my team,
            1. Pragashraj
            2. Keerthy
            3. Jenoshan
            4. Powsikan
            5. Kesavan
            6. Piruntha
            7. Thadsayini

so the game is we are stand together in paper that lecturer given.all member's feet must stand on the paper and paper cant tear. first all groups are stands on the paper and then which team not able to stand on paper they might eliminate . so we manage to pass the first round and a team was eliminated then there are only three teams are left.
so now only three teams are left and now paper pleated into half. and the game started again and once again our manage to stand and one team was  eliminated and then third and final round only two teams.and once again paper pleated into half. so now the game is very tough .but we could manage to stand on the paper and finally we won the game.

so the winning team is ,

so the game taught us,

1. team management
2.good communication
3.planning
4.implementing the strategy well

EGG COVER

EGG COVER

An Egg cover task means that every each group need to to make a cover  for a given egg.
for that , first we divided into groups and lecturer gave an egg and 5 half-sheet for each group
then within the time limit we need to make cover for our egg and when the cover throw up and must wait for the landing when cover lands the unbroken egg cover is the winner.

first we made a sketch for our plan. that we thought ,to cover the egg in 720 degree
then it will never brake whatever angle that will fall.so the cover we made, protected the egg how we thought.

so sketch of our plan helped us make it success.when we finished the work all groups are submitted
their covers.
after submision  we all went the ground and gathered around .and get ready for final step of our task that when the cover throw up while its falling it mightn't broke.

so finally the tallest man of our batch came and throw every cover to high.successfully our egg is not broken.

the team work helped us to to be success.and finally one member from each group came front and explained about their work.

MY FRIEND

MY FRIEND

A Good friend is a gift of God. He is a great boon. The world is gloomy in the absence of a true friend. A true friend always stands by his friend whether he is in distress or in pleasure. He is honest, sincere and always helping to his friend. Such a friend is indeed rare in today’s world when qualities have been lost in the fast race of materialism.

My best friend name is Chandrakumar Navaneeth. He has been my class fellow  since my very childhood. His father is an employer . Mother is a house wife. he has one elder brother and younger sister.he was born on 25 th of february 1997. he  lives in Negombo.

A true friend is a source of joy, hope and inspiration to his friend. He is humble and modest. He is very brilliant student in our class . he able to pass his grade 5 scholarship examinations, and performed well in his G.C.E. ordinary examination. navaneeth and i sat for G.C.E advance level examination in physical science stream.and got good results too.He is also active in other curricular activities. participated a lot sports activities in our school annual sports meet.he mostly like to play cricket.and he is a good batsman too.not only cricket but also volleyball, elle, etc..while studying A/L  he participated in marathon race too.
he played a role of prefect in our school.and worked well.

Navaneeth is a bundle of good qualities. He has respect for his elders. He is very friendly to his juniors. He is very helpful to the needy and the poor.he is very honest . while studying he is the best in IT subject. and his favourite subject too. therefore he got a goal to be a software engineer and he is doing his career goal now as a software engineer.

He is very obedient to his parents.and he is very friendly for all. when iam studying at school one day i got injured in my head and blood are bleeding . at the time i shouted by using his name at once he came and took me to medical.his helping nature impressed all. These people will be with you only in good times and desert you the moment your chips are down .
He is very fluent in tamil and sinhala language . and good in english too.since  my childhood he is the one of the best friend i ever had. His virture of patience and compassion for all is indeed amazing. That soft spoken countenance and dignity with which he conducts himself shows his good culture and upbringing .I consider myself fortunate to have a good friend like navaneeth. He is a source of strength and guide to me. All these qualities make him my best friend.
